An ambulance was flipped on its side on Thursday evening after colliding with a tram in the municipality of Anderlecht. Both paramedics inside the vehicle have been put on a two-day medical leave to recover.
The incident occurred just before midnight at a crossroads between Rue de Douvres and Rue Wayez. The Brussels Fire Brigade has stated that the ambulance was riding to an emergency medical intervention with its lights and sirens on when it collided with the tram.
The Brussels-Midi police zone is now said to be investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
