Dutch police have arrested three suspects, aged 17 and 18, during the investigation into an attack on a restaurant in Borgerhout, Antwerp Public Prosecutor's Office said on Monday.
The attack, which took place on Sunday night at an establishment located on the Turnhoutsebaan in Borgerhout, a district of the city of Antwerp, resulted in an explosion and a fire.
The restaurant's entrance door was damaged, but nobody was injured.
An examining magistrate has been appointed to investigate the incident, which is currently being treated as a case of criminal damage to property caused by an explosion, a breach of the law on explosives and participation in a criminal organisation.
Surveillance camera images identified the suspects, who have now been arrested in the Netherlands. Further investigation will have to determine whether there is a link between the events and the drug trade, as has been the case in previous attacks in the Antwerp region.
