Belgian start-up Lizy, which specialises in leasing used cars, announced on Thursday that it will expand its operations to the Netherlands.
The Brussels-based company offers a digital solution for leasing used vehicles, allowing SMEs and self-employed individuals to lease a car and receive it within relatively short timeframes.
After entering the French market in 2022, Lizy has now opened an office in Amsterdam.
"The Dutch leasing market is robust but still heavily focused on new cars, often with cumbersome and inflexible processes. Our digital approach shortens lead times, offers more advantageous contracts, and better meets customer expectations," said Lizy CEO Sam Heymans.
The expansion into the Netherlands comes at a challenging time for the automotive market. "The fact that we feel so little impact from current market difficulties proves that customers are actively seeking new solutions," Heymans added.
Lizy also aims to meet the growing demand for greener mobility. By 2024, 75% of its contracts were for electric cars.
"For small businesses and self-employed individuals, leasing a new electric car is often too expensive," Heymans noted. "Our wide range of used electric vehicles allows them to adopt more sustainable mobility at a lower cost."
