Only two out of five intercity trains will run on Tuesday due to an ongoing strike, the SNCB announced on Sunday.
Almost all peak hour trains will be halted. One in three suburban L and S trains will be operational.
A nine-day rotating strike began on Friday night at 10:00.
Disruptions may vary from day to day. An alternative service has been devised based on the available SNCB and Infrabel personnel, and this will be communicated two days in advance.
SNCB advises travellers to check its app or website for real-time travel updates.
The strike is led by the Independent Railway Workers’ Union (SIC) and the Independent Train Drivers’ Union (SACT). They are protesting against several proposed measures, including pension reform. Other opposed measures include a bill to abolish the HR Rail service, increased work flexibility demands, and reduced funding for the SNCB.
