Inflation in Belgium dropped to 2.91% in March, falling below the 3% mark for the first time since August, according to data from the statistics bureau Statbel.
In February, inflation was still at 3.55% and in January it rose further to 4.08%.
Prices for mobile phone subscriptions (-20.5%), smartphones (-13.4%), televisions (-12.9%) and computers (-11.1%), among other things, have fallen sharply compared to a year ago.
Strong increases were seen in cigarettes (+27.2%), natural gas (+25.4%), other tobacco products (23%), household services (22.6%) and electricity (+20.2%).
