Belgian man dies in skiing accident in Switzerland

A 38-year-old Belgian man lost his life on Sunday in a skiing accident in Switzerland, Swissinfo reported on Monday. The exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear.

The victim was on a ski tour near the Zermatt ski resort, close to the Italian border, accompanied by two other individuals.

According to the police, the group departed from the Schönbiel refuge, situated at an altitude of over 2,670 metres, at around 08:30 on Sunday. It is not yet clear how the man fell, but he died as a result.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain the precise details of the accident.
