Noah Vandenbranden broke the Belgian cycling record for the individual pursuit at the International Belgian Track Meeting on Friday night.
In the qualifying round, the 20-year-old clocked 4:11.295, beating the previous record of 4:12.112 that he himself had set at the European Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland in 2021. In the final, Vandenbranden went on to win ahead of Thibaut Bernard and Brem Deman.
In the other races, Nicky Degrendele took third place in the sprint, while Shari Bossuyt came seventh in the women's omnium.

The International Belgian Track Meeting runs until Sunday at the Eddy Merckx Cycling Centre in Ghent.
