Several hundred workers at the Audi Brussels plant in Forest did not return to work this Monday morning at 06:00, announced Grégory Dascotte, FGTB permanent representative.
Factory workers are worried about the announcements that will follow an extraordinary works council meeting on Monday morning.
Although Audi Brussels morning teams were present on site, they did not restart production on Monday morning. "There is a great deal of concern among the workers," explains Grégory Dascotte.
The extraordinary works council meeting could lead to changes in production volumes. After this meeting, general meetings organised by management are scheduled with Audi Brussels staff. A decision will then be taken on whether or not to extend the strike.
The afternoon shifts are expected to start at 15:00, "but it’s likely that they won’t go back to work then either," confided the FGTB permanent representative.
