Mobile 'Recyparks' are returning to the Brussels region for the tenth edition this Monday (10 March). The services collect various forms of waste and will travel to 14 municipalities in the capital between now and the end of June.
From 10 March to 27 June, Brussels' waste agency Brussels Cleanliness is again offering its itinerant service for the collection of bulky items, objects and waste. Residents can benefit from the service on more than 100 dates and in 14 municipalities.
"You can only access the mobile Recypark in your municipality, so please bring your identity card with you," the agency noted in a statement. The aim is to bring recycling facilities closer to the public to prevent illegal dumping.
What can be dumped?
In concrete terms, the agency sets up containers to collect certain types of waste at various locations throughout the 14 participating municipalities, mostly on squares. Municipal employees will be on hand to guide citizens.
Mobile Recyparks accept a maximum of 3 m³ of bulky items free of charge. This includes furniture, small household and multimedia appliances, tools (such as electric lawnmowers and drills), hard plastics (such as toys), small household chemical waste, and lamps.
Items that will not be accepted include waste for white, orange, yellow, green and blue bins, glass bottles, large household appliances (washing machines, ovens, refrigerators, etc.), dangerous items such as solvents, acids, bases, mercury, syringes and laboratory products and radioactive substances.

People are advised to sort their waste into categories beforehand.
For the tenth edition (the first took place in 2015), more than half of the participating municipalities will give a second life to the objects brought to the Recyparks.
The itinerant service will remain in a commune for between three and ten days. Koekelberg will be the first stop. Find the services' schedule here.
