Some 60,000 people visited the Belgian Beer Weekend on the cobblestones of the famous Grand Place in Brussels between Friday and Sunday last week.
After two years of the event being cancelled as a result of the pandemic, visitors of the three-day event could once again taste about 500 different beers, put on offer by almost 50 brewers were present, from major brewers such as Lindemans, and Du Bocq, to boutique brewers such as Silly and Royal Swinkels Family Brewers.
"The feeling is positive. This weekend is a showcase for our know-how and for the diversity of beer culture," said Krishan Maudgal, director of the non-profit association Belgian Brewers.

The 22nd edition of the event attracted fewer visitors than in previous years, but organisers were still pleased with the turnout. "The people who came were interested. There were also once again a lot of foreign visitors who discovered Belgian beer."

The Belgian Beer Weekend has taken place every first weekend of September since 1998.
