The price of gold broke through the $3,000 (€2,750.78) per ounce barrier for the first time on Friday morning.
Investors have turned to the safe-haven asset amid geopolitical fears and concerns of a trade war following Donald Trump's threat to impose higher tariffs on European alcohol imports.

At 10:15 GMT (11:15 in Brussels), an ounce of gold climbed by 2.94% to reach $3,000.85 (€2.752.27)
Yesterday, the value of gold surpassed its former record from late February.
