The Polish Presidency of the Council of European Union unveiled its cultural programme on Tuesday afternoon.

The European Union will organise nearly 100 events and exhibitions across Member States and potential future members under the theme Culture Sparks Unity. The aim is to unite countries through art and culture, promoting a shared European identity.

The Polish Presidency, which started in January and lasts until 30 June, is focussing on contemporary Polish art trends featuring young artists.

Brussels, the EU’s capital, plays a significant role for Poland's cultural programme. From 14 January to 30 June, visitors can view the Regeneration artwork at the European Parliament, with other exhibits at the Justus Lipsius and Europa buildings.

In February, the renowned Polish electronic music festival Unsound will come to Brussels to celebrate Polish electronic and experimental music.

Bozar will host Familiar Strangers by Joanna Warsza from 14 March to 29 June at the Palace of Fine Arts. On 18 June, Flagey will feature the Tomasz Stańko Experience, highlighting Poland’s rich jazz tradition.

The programme includes about 100 exhibitions both within and outside the EU. Potential future Member States also have the opportunity to showcase their cultures.
