While unions and management meet in Brussels, postal services in Wallonia are still experiencing disruptions on Tuesday, a Bpost spokesperson reported.

Around 70% of the rounds are being made, but mail delivery is being hampered by filter blockades at the sorting centres in Charleroi and Liège.

Postal workers have been protesting for about a week against a reorganisation of work proposed by the management. The management assures that there will be no dismissals.

There are signs of discontent almost everywhere in the south of the country. However, activity is most severely disrupted in the offices of Péruwelz, Ath, Tournai, Mons, and Fleurus in Hainaut, as well as in Fléron and Sprimont in the province of Liège.

In Fleurus, picket lines have been set up, according to a Bpost spokesperson. The spokesperson emphasised that even if the postal staff are working in an office, they sometimes cannot deliver letters and parcels because they have not reached them due to pickets for example.

Management and unions met at 09:00 on Tuesday in Brussels to find a solution.
