Last Sunday, a woman was the victim of an attempted rape as she walked through Forest park with her baby.
First reported by La Dernière Heure, the woman testified about what had happened on a Facebook post. The Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office has since opened an investigation.
According to her testimony, the woman was walking with her baby in Forest park at around 19:30 on Sunday evening when a man approached her from behind and held her in a chokehold.
Despite the screams of the woman and her baby, he began to grope her. The woman defended herself and was able to free herself by striking the attacker's crotch with her knee and running away.
She then sought help from other people walking in the park. They stayed with her until the emergency services arrived at the scene.
"Following the victim's complaint, an investigation was opened," the Public Prosecutor stated. "The investigation is being actively pursued to identify the perpetrator."
