Etex, the global construction materials manufacturer based in Belgium, has officially inaugurated a €200 million extension of its plasterboard production plant in Bristol, UK.
The extension, which produces plasterboard for the Siniat brand, is Etex’s most efficient plasterboard production line in Europe in terms of size, speed, and complexity. The installed capacity allows Etex to produce over 98% of its plasterboard portfolio for the UK and Ireland.
The new site is also a zero-waste-to-landfill facility. Additionally, Etex is the first manufacturer in the UK to have its new products certified for recycled content, ranging from 23% to 45% in the new plasterboards.
"The new Bristol plant demonstrates Etex’s strong presence in Europe and its commitment to continuous investment in innovation," commented John Sinfield, Etex’s Managing Director for the UK and Ireland.
"This investment will provide our UK customers with added confidence in our ability to meet any increase in demand, in line with government initiatives."
Etex operates more than 160 sites in 45 countries and employs 13,500 people worldwide.
