A fire broke out on the roof of an apartment complex between Rue Léon Theodor and Chaussée de Wemmel in the Brussels municipality of Jette on Tuesday evening.
The fire had started on several roof terraces and caused a large plume of smoke that was visible from far away.
The emergency services arrived with four fire engines to extinguish the fire and evacuate the residents.
Two apartments were declared uninhabitable, while 13 apartments are temporarily uninhabitable due to a water leak and electrical problems. The residents are being cared for by family and in hotel rooms.
The fire was under control around 21:45 on Tuesday, according to the fire service.
There were no casualties. The cause is currently unknown. The intervention ended at 01:30.
