With 'Rock Werchter Encore', the Rock Werchter organisation is announcing a one-time extra day festival this year on Sunday 26 June, the weekend before the actual festival.
For a few weeks now, the Rock Werchter organisation has been hinting that it would be organising an extra festival day this summer, but gave no further information.
But on Friday, it announced that Rock Werchter Encore would take place on 26 June in the Festival Park at Werchter. The first headliner was announced as well: Florence + The Machine.
"The past two summers have been rather quiet in the Festival Park," organiser Herman Schueremans told Het Nieuwsblad. "There is a great hunger to experience festivals to the fullest again. Both Rock Werchter and Werchter Boutique sold out earlier than ever."
The full line-up will be announced later. There will be two stages, a Main Stage and The Barn will also open. The first show will start at 16:00. Tickets for the day festival will be on sale from Thursday 14 April at 10:00 via ticketmaster.be. They cost €94 (including service charges and mobility contribution).

Those who already had a ticket for the Rock Werchter main festival will receive a €10 discount for Rock Werchter Encore, and will soon receive an email with more information.
The organisation kicks off the festival summer with Werchter Boutique on Sunday 19 June, with headliners Stromae and Gorillaz. The week after on Saturday 25 June, there's TW Classic with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, among others.
Then on Sunday 26 June, Rock Werchter Encore is organised, and from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July, the actual four-day Rock Werchter festival takes place.
