As it is King Philippe's 62nd birthday today (on 15 April), a new portrait was taken by the Palace's house photographer Bas Bogaerts at the Royal Estate of Laeken.

Philippe of Belgium is the seventh King of the Belgians and was born on 15 April 1960 in Brussels. This date, his birthday, is the reason why the Palace is presenting a new photograph of him.

Translation: "Thank you for your birthday wishes!"

The portrait was taken at the beginning of this month, in the estate where he lives with Queen Mathilde and their four children.

Additionally, the King's birthday is not the only celebration this week, as his daughter, Princess Eléonere, will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, on 16 April. She will turn 14 years old.
