The 14th edition of the “Love Bugs Parade” saw hundreds of Beetles parade through the Cinquantenaire in Brussels on Sunday.

Some 300 vehicles took part in the parade on the Cinquantenaire esplanade in front of Autoworld, the automobile museum. From the original Beetle model to the new - including the mythical Volkswagen Combi minibus - the event attracted lots of spectators and fans of the car, famously popularised in the 1968 movie “The Love Bug”.

At 2 PM the cars set off for an exhibition rally on the streets of the capital, driving towards the Tervuren Museum, Vossem, the D’Ieteren Contact Center in Erps-Kwerps, and then back to Autoworld via Sterrebeek and the Tervuren Avenue.

This edition celebrated the 75th anniversary of the introduction of the Beetle car in Belgium, and more precisely the 75th anniversary of the signing of the import contract of the Volkswagen brand by the D’Ieteren distributor.

For those who missed the parade, Autoworld will hold a “VW Love Bugs – The Buzz edition” exhibition, until 26 March.
