Proximus recorded 4.3% growth in domestic sales in the third quarter to €1,173 million, the operator said on Friday.

In view of this "excellent commercial momentum," the company has decided to raise its forecasts for domestic sales and domestic and group EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for the full year 2023.

Overall, the Proximus group posted underlying sales of €1,527 million in the third quarter (+1.1%). The group's underlying EBITDA was €458 million, down 0.4%.

Sales in the residential and business segments also rose, by 5.5% and 4.1% respectively. Domestic EBITDA was down 0.7% on the same period in 2022, but improved on previous quarters, reaching €423 million.

The group also ended the period with growth in its Mobile Postpaid base (+60,000 customers) and its Internet base (+11,000 customers), thanks to the extension of its fibre coverage. This now covers 26% of the population, and 353,000 fibre lines were activated at the end of September. TV subscriptions, on the other hand, have continued to decline, down by 12,000.

For 2023, Proximus forecasts domestic sales growth of 3.5% to 4%, while the decline in domestic EBITDA will be limited to around 2%.

The Board of Directors has also approved the payment of an interim dividend of €0.50 per share for the 2023 financial year.
