Two people died during the night from Saturday to Sunday after being stabbed several times with a knife in Marcinelle near Charleroi. This was confirmed Sunday by the Charleroi public prosecutor's office following reports from several media outlets. The suspected perpetrator, born in 1992, was arrested.
An argument broke out last night in an apartment building in Marcinelle between workers of foreign origin. One person was stabbed 11 times in one of the apartments. A second victim was found lifeless in a neighboring backyard. The latter probably tried to flee, but was caught by the suspect, a colleague of the two victims.
The man was arrested in Charleroi, the prosecutor's office confirmed. Another employee was also taken by police for questioning. An autopsy will be performed on the two bodies later in the day.
