Another 35 people were administratively arrested in Brussels on Saturday evening following calls on social media for a public gathering in response to the police shooting of Nahel M, 17, in France earlier in the week.

During the evening, gatherings occurred around Louise metro station. Out of the 35 people who were administratively detained, 31 were minors.

Police stated that these were preventative arrests as the protest began to disrupt public order. The parents of the minors were alerted to come and collect them.

On previous days, Brussels police also carried out dozens of administrative arrests following various incidents in different neighbourhoods around the city.
