The third edition of the comedy festival 'Namur is a Joke' welcomed around 12,000 attendees to the Walloon capital from Wednesday to Sunday, according to organiser and Namur-based comedian GuiHome.

Attendance was consistent with that of 2023. With a turnout rate of 90%, the event reaffirmed its status on the Belgian comedy scene. The festival also featured concerts, reflecting its aim to incorporate music and festivities.

Venues for the festival included the Delta, the NEF, the Caméo, Brasserie de la Houppe, the Namur Theatre, and Place d'Armes. The opening gala will be broadcast on RTBF television soon.

The comedy line-up included Alex Vizorek, Anthony Kavanagh, Viktor Vincent, Laurence Bibot, Ahmed Sylla, Freddy Tougaux, Sarah Grosjean, Virginie Fortin, Antoine Donneaux, and Sarah Lélé. Musical acts featured Kid Noize, Rori, and Bianca Costa.

Young comedian Ilona won the Joke XXL contest. The title will allow her to perform at 'Namur is a Joke' next year, and also at partner festivals in Canada, France and Switzerland.

The festival's next edition is scheduled from 26 to 30 March 2025. "The line-up is complete. We can expect an XXL selection featuring leading names in comedy and many new acts," announced GuiHome.
