Belgian Pro League club Union Saint-Gilloise will have to play without Sofiane Boufal for three to four weeks.

The Moroccan footballer is suffering from a "minor muscle injury," the Brussels-based club confirmed on Tuesday.

Boufal (31) had to leave the pitch after just 14 minutes during the 5-1 victory against Antwerp in the opening match of the Champions Playoffs on Saturday night.

This season has not been kind to the international player, who has accumulated a total of 1,039 minutes over 24 matches in all competitions with the club.

Union are currently in third place in the Champions Playoffs with 31 points, trailing Genk by six points and two points behind Club Brugge.

The team will face Gent on Saturday at 20:45 to kick off the second round of the Champions Playoffs.
