The Chief Commissioner of the Central Office for the Repression of Corruption (OCRC) was raided by police on Thursday morning, as reported by Le Soir and Knack.

The head of the federal police’s anti-corruption office was taken in for questioning by the General Inspectorate of the Police and a Brussels investigating judge.

The chief’s home was also searched, according to the media. Le Soir did not have information about the reasons behind the operation.

Neither the Brussels Prosecutor’s Office, the General Inspectorate of the police, nor the federal police commented on the matter.

The OCRC is responsible for combating corruption and white-collar crime, managing major cases such as Qatargate and the Nethys affair.
