A fire broke out on Saturday evening in a terraced house in the Brussels municipality of Forest. There were no injuries but the building has been ravaged by fire and is now inhospitable, Brussels firefighters reported on Sunday.
Residents of the Chaussée de Bruxelles alerted the emergency services to the fire at around 23:45 in the evening, noticing smoke emerging from the top floor of the dwelling.
No one was in the building when firefighters arrived. They accessed the property through the window in the attic, as well as by cutting a hole through the front door. A fire was discovered to be raging in the second floor stairwell.
