The 13th edition of Dinner in the Sky, a gourmet dining experience suspended 50 metres above the Atomium’s esplanade in Brussels, kicked off on Thursday.
This edition is set to be the most impressive yet, featuring a plethora of young chefs who will be introduced to attendees, according to David Ghysels, the creator of these temporary star-studded tables.
Several internationally renowned chefs including Viki Geunes (‘t Zilte, Glen Verhasselt & Yanick Dehandschutter (Sir Kwinten), and David Martin (La Paix) are scheduled to appear.
The platform offers 32 seats, organised around eight circular tables and featuring a central kitchen spanning four metres in length, where the chefs and their teams work. The daily menu comprises two starters, a main course, and a dessert, prepared and served by the day’s gastronomic chef at noon, 7pm, and 9:30pm.
Since its inception in 2010, the event has journeyed across Brussels, previously hosted at Mont des Arts, Cinquantenaire, Brouckère Square, Martyrs’ Square, in front of the Koekelberg Basilica, and along the canal, but has also graced the Atomium.
In fact, to mark its 10th anniversary, Dinner in the Sky filled the esplanade with 10 tables suspended in mid-air.
