A young woman was found dead in her home on Sunday evening in the Marcinelle municipality of Charleroi.
The woman's partner has since been arrested, various media and the Charleroi Public Prosecutor's Office has confirmed the news.
Emergency services found the body of the woman, born in 1996, at around 22:00 on Sunday evening. According to the public prosecutor, the victim had been stabbed several times.
The partner, born in 1993, tried to flee from the police, but caused an accident in the process.
He is in hospital. An examining magistrate has been appointed and the suspect will be questioned as soon as his health permits.
