The number of new electric cars has for the first time surpassed their diesel counterparts in Europe, according to the European Automobile Manufacturer's Association.

From January to October, the EU saw the registration of 1.23 million fully electric vehicles, eclipsing the 1.22 million diesel cars registered in the same period.
