The space that formerly held the Aquarium of Brussels in Koekelberg is seeking a new tenant, and a Pentecostal church is looking to move in.
The ground floor with an underlying warehouse on the Bossaertlaan, where the aquarium was located until a few years ago, is for sale, Bruzz reports.
One of the candidates for the roughly 1,000 square metre space is The Rock Church, which is now in Anderlecht. The church has already applied to the municipality for a change of use from cultural venue to place of worship, and public enquiry is currently underway.
Multiple interested buyers
According to the office of mayor Ahmed Laaouej (PS), there are other interested parties for the space besides the church.
A commercial office project, for example, is also said to be in the pipeline.
