Three people were taken to hospital following a knife attack that took place after a fight in the Rue de Soignies in Brussels' city centre, not far from Place Anneessens, on Tuesday afternoon.
In the early afternoon on Tuesday, a fight reportedly broke out in the Rue de Soignies. During the altercation, three people were stabbed, Sudinfo reports.
"Three people were injured and taken to hospital," Ilse Van de keere, spokesperson for the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone, confirmed to Belga News Agency on Tuesday evening. The victims' lives are not in danger.
"The investigation into the circumstances of the events and to find the perpetrator(s) is ongoing," she added. The perpetrators have not yet been caught.
The attack took place at roughly the same time as a shooting at Porte de Hal in the municipality of Saint-Gilles. While no one was injured during the shooting, one woman was hit by the car of the perpetrators as they fled away.
That incident, however, is the subject of another investigation conducted by the Brussels Midi police zone. "Based on the information we have now, the two incidents seem to be unrelated," Van de keere said.
