Lars Cosemans used to run a cluttered record shop in Antwerp called simply Vinyl. Then in 2011 he moved all his stuff into a shop on Volkstraat in the Zuid district and added coffee to the name.
More than ten years on, the store still sells vintage records in the back room and coffee in a front room furnished with vintage schoolroom chairs. You can shuffle through old records in search of a rare find, or sell off your own collection.
It’s a relaxed, nostalgic place to hang out. A bit messy, like the old shop. Paintings by young Antwerp artists decorate the walls. Local bands sometimes drop in to play.
