Carrefour’s acquisition of Cora France and Match France will not affect the Belgian operations of the Louis Delhaize group, it was announced on Tuesday.
On 12 July 2023, Louis Delhaize had announced the signing of an agreement to sell Cora France and Match France to Carrefour. This included 60 hypermarkets, 115 supermarkets and the Provera France purchasing centre.
The deal became official on Monday when Carrefour announced that it would take over all the stores, services, and staff, totalling approximately 22,000 people.
The Louis Delhaize group remains active in France with its 64 Truffaut gardening shops and its Houra.fr online food shopping platform, the group stated.
