The Brussels municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert's council approved its 2025 budget of €144 million, including a surplus of €310,000, on Monday evening.
The majority is formed by the Mayor’s List and Les Engagés, while the opposition consists of MR+, Ecolo, Groen, PS, and Vooruit.
Mayor Olivier Maingain highlighted the difficulty of the budget exercise, given the absence of a Brussels Government.
He argued that the €200 million euros allocated by the Federal Government to municipalities to address the two-year unemployment limit is vastly insufficient.
Amélie Pans from MR+ criticised the budget as unrealistic and unable to tackle future challenges.
