Four minors have been arrested for their involvement in a fight that started in Brussels Central Station on Monday evening which resulted in one young person being stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital in mortal danger.
The fight first broke out in Brussels Central Station at around 21:30 on Monday. Two groups of young people clashed with each other, the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Tuesday afternoon. The brawl then continued on a train between Brussels Central and Brussels-Midi.
"A knife was allegedly pulled in the process and one youth is believed to have stabbed another," Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Yasmina Vanoverschelde said.
The victim, an adolescent male, was immediately given first aid and was subsequently taken to a local hospital by emergency services. He was in a life-threatening condition but Vanoverschelde confirmed on Tuesday that his life was no longer in danger.
Immediately after the stabbing, the Railway Police of the Federal Police arrived at the scene and arrested four suspects, all minors. Two of them were referred to the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office while the two others referred to the Halle-Vilvoorde Public Prosecutor's Office.
The circumstances of the incident are still unclear and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
