On Thursday, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo presented honorary distinctions on behalf of the Belgian state to 10 people, at Belgium's Consulate General in New York.
Prime Minister De Croo took advantage of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to bestow honorary titles to ten people in the American city.
Those honoured, which include five Belgians, have distinguished themselves in their respective economic, scientific, or cultural fields.

Scientist Annette Bakker (Officer of the Order of Leopold), businessman and former CEO of AB InBev Carlos Brito (Grand Officer of the Order of the Crown), banker George Ugeux (Commander of the Order of the Crown), psychiatrist Esther Perel (Knight of the Order of the Crown), and artist Marie-Paule Martin (Knight of the Order of Leopold) were the five Belgians honoured by De Croo.
